How to make a custom anime keycaps?

It’s exciting to have your favorite anime characters on your keyboard. A common solution is to find some artisan keycaps in group buys. If the artisan keycaps happen to include your favorite character, then it becomes very easy.

However, if you want to customize a keycap to your own, it can be quite difficult. Most artisans and artists don’t offer individual keycap customization services. Fortunately, you’ve come across DIYKEYCAPS, where we offer custom keycap services.

Find A Character You Like.

First, you’ll need to choose your favorite from a wide selection of anime, games, and virtual YouTubers. Currently familiar ones include Neon Genesis Evangelion, featuring popular characters like Asuka and Rei Ayanami.

The Pokémon series boasts excellent characters such as Gengar and Pikachu.

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End features popular characters like Frieren, Himmel, and Fern.

Confirm Which Size Keycaps to Make.

There are many popular keycap types, with common height specifications including Cherry, OEM, SA, DSA, XDA, and MDA.

Next, we need to determine the dimensions for the keycaps.

The familiar ESC keycap is 1U, as are the number keys and letter keys on the keyboard.

The left Tab keycap is 1.5U.

The left Caps Lock key is 1.75U.

The left Shift key is 2.25U.

The bottom left Ctrl, Alt, and Win keys are 1.25U. The Backspace key is 2U.

The Enter key is 2.25U.

The right Shift key, depending on the keyboard specifications, will have both 2.75U and 1.75U dimensions. If it’s longer than the Enter key, it’s definitely 2.75U.

The largest keycap, the Spacebar, also comes in two lengths. The popular length is 6.25U, but there are also 7U, 2.75U split spacebars, and 3.125U split spacebars.

All keycaps of these sizes can be customized with beautiful themes.
