How to Custom ESC keycap

Hey, this article mainly explains how to customize Esc keycaps. First, you’ll need to prepare an image—whether it’s an anime character, a logo, or a phrase.

Step 1: Prepare the reference pattern

It is recommended to choose some 2D anime character images with bright colors and clear color areas, such as cartoon characters, virtual characters, game characters, etc.

It’s important to note that titanium anodizing cannot gradient between different colors, so if your reference image has gradient areas, we will draw them as blocks of color.

Here are some examples.

Step 2: Cutting keycap range diagram

The top pattern of the Cherry Profile ESC keycap has a ratio of 11.4:13.7. Therefore, we need to cut the reference image.
During this process, you can provide your cutting suggestions. We will tailor the cuts to your needs to achieve a perfect display pattern.

Here are some examples.

Step 3: Draw the design draft

After confirming the scope drawing, our designers will create a hand-drawn design.

Since the reference drawing cannot be used directly for keycap production, it will need to be redrawn. After the design is completed, we will review it with you. If the design requires revisions, you will provide your suggestions, and we will then create a second draft. The maximum number of revisions is two.

The design drawing and revision process typically takes 1-2 weeks, depending on the number of revisions.

Here are some examples.

Step 4: Keycap production and delivery

Before we begin keycap production, we need to confirm the color of the keycap side panels. For classic color titanium keycaps, the color of the keycap side panels is determined by the color of your desired pattern (the highest voltage color for anodizing). Other colors cannot be specified.

For precision pointillist keycaps, the color of the keycap side panels is freely selectable.

For all keycaps, we currently cannot produce white or black side panels.

Keycap production typically takes 2-6 weeks, and the size of the keycap will affect production time.

After production is complete, we will take photos and share them with the customer.

Finally, we begin packaging and shipping.

Here are some examples.
